Maori Wardens made their first public appearance yesterday at the Australian National Kapa Haka Qualifying Festival . Our stall was set up across from Kiwi Snack Foods. We were all out as a committee and had 5 mins on the stage to share our kaupapa which was really appreciated.
We’ve been going since the 1st of March and the level of interest since has been awesome. Its clear that there is a need for us here in Sydney. Im sure that this isn’t the only place that we are needed but once we’ve set the framework for Sydney I’m sure it can be replicated elsewhere in NSW.
We were blessed to meet some fantastic people and receive expressions of interest from potential Wardens.
