Today Matua Rawiri was blessed to be surrounded by a bevy of beautiful maori women! We hosted our first Kaumatua Lunch at Merrylands Bowling Club.

We opened our lunch with a karakia and a waiata, There were many laughs and stories shared over the generous kai harvested from the buffet. There was a wide selection of kaimoana and the puddings were delicious.

Three ladies were fortunate to go home with their  lucky door prizes. These were kindly provided by Lyn Hiku an AVON rep. She is also a NSW Warden.

Just as the name suggests we will be hosting more lunches. This is not a formal event. We see ir as an opportunity for our kaumatua and kuia to come together for a korero and kai. We encourage you to keep in touch so you can share the details with your whanau who may be interested in attending the next one.
