ANZAC Memorial Service – Church of Te Wairua Tapu – Redfern NSW

On the first Sunday following ANZAC Day every year there is a Church Service of Commemoration at the Church of Te Wairua Tapu in Redfern.

This was our first year attending as NSW Maori Wardens. Our Rangatahi Warden Summer Ratahi laid a wreath and we were all blessed to meet WW11 Veterans.

The guest speakers were (Councillor John Mant (City of Sydney), Brent Kerehona (ADF Veteran and Military Historian), and Craig Ball (ADF Soldier and Afghanistan Veteran).

We were all delighted when the NZ Consul General Martin Welsh made a surprise presentation to the 100 year old NZ WWII (Greece/Crete) Veteran 1221 T/SSgt Frank Harlow.

It was an beautiful morning and we will definitely be there next year
